As I’ve entered a busier season of my life in the past few weeks, it seems impossible to sit down and find the time to write in a thorough way about the beauty and wonder of God. But I’ve decided that even though I don’t have the ability to write longer posts right now, it is still worth sharing with the little time that I do have. Below is a little snippet about God’s work in my heart, I hope the reading of it lifts your heart and your face:
There is great hope and responsibility in the fact that we get to choose how we face the challenges of each day. We can do so positively, with a confident trust in God to supply all of our needs, or we can do so negatively, with fear/worry/anxiety about how it will all work out. There are very real things that you might be facing that are bigger than your strength. I know that there are for me. But there is nothing that is stronger than God, there is nothing that He can’t accomplish. He is the best place to turn to with our burdens, because He cares so much for us and He is more than able to handle anything that comes our way (1 Peter 5:7; Jeremiah 32:27) . In surrendering all of our worries and concerns into His hands, we can have peace, confidence, and hope as we trust in Him (Romans 15:13).
May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his works—
He who looks at the earth, and it trembles,
who touches the mountains, and they smoke.- Psalm 104:32 (NIV)
How incredible it is! God is so powerful that the ground trembles when He looks at it, and the mountains smoke like they’re on fire at His touch. Your problems don’t stand a chance in the hands of the living God.
The seas have lifted up, Lord,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the Lord on high is mighty. – Psalm 93:3,4 (NIV)
God is stronger than the loudest and the most powerful waves of the sea. His voice can drown out the roar of your worries, His hand can still the most tumultuous of circumstances.
The comforting words wash over me again, Be still and know that I am God.
